In one line

Rubrica is a cozy reading tracker with a little companion: log every book, on paper, ebook or audio, and watch the hours add up.

In a paragraph

Rubrica is a reading log and ebook reader for iPhone, iPad and Android. Readers add any book they're reading and sit down to read with a small companion: a cat, an owlet, a snail and fifteen more. It opens its own book, a lamp fills while the timer runs on the lock screen, and there's rain, a stream or a fireplace to read to. Between sittings it potters around a room that keeps the reader's hours and seasons, sends postcards from the books they read, and levels up from 1 to 50, learning tricks and earning new rooms as it goes. After a sitting it plays hide and seek. Each companion has its own temper, remembers the reader's book and keeps a diary of the days they read. Along the way readers build up stats, streaks and wax seals that change color as they level up. Three small quests a day, surprise finds, a weekly chest, a free event every month and a Sunday recap give readers a reason to pick the book back up, and none of it can be bought. Rubrica also opens DRM-free ebooks with a calm, distraction-free reader, offers thousands of free classics, and has a one-page weekly reading log for school homework. It's free with no ads; an optional Pro subscription adds cosmetics, deeper stats and a new drop every month.
